Welcome!
My name is Linda Hines, and Poets & Princes is a reflection of my fancies. When not writing, I am reading … or eagerly awaiting the latest 150-200 year old translation my
Like anyone in love with the written word, I have many Passions! The Victorian West, 18th and 19th Century German Romantic Literature and Classical Music, European History … and, most of all … Horses! I am also an avid Collector of Antique volumes and classic illustrations … in my own modest fashion, of course.
All of these Passions are reflected in the stories I write! Would you believe The Metairies have “lived” in my head and my heart since I was thirteen? But only as an adult, after a lifetime of living and loving and loss, could I find the words … or possess the maturity and depth of feeling these characters deserved to properly tell their poignant tale. So that just four years ago did “The Metairie Saga” begin to evolve … as eight short stories. The first one, “The Metairie Cattle Company,” became “Alteza.” The next three, “Drumfire,” “Runes,” and “Dusk of Tears,” became “Phantom Suns.”
Presently, I’m researching Book Three of the series … which will be known as “Lords of High Degree.” As always, most content in the company of burnished leather and marble-bound volumes of centuries past.
